Vegetable Growing Made Easy Mr John Mottshaw Ms Paula Mottshaw 9781477602942 Books Reviews
I had never had much luck growing anything, but thought I'd give it one last try. Vegetable Growing Made Easy provided me with the basic information I needed to start growing my own food. It was easy to read and provided practical information and tips, which gave me the confidence that I needed. There are lots of resource links included as well if you want to learn more. I found this book a great primer for someone who wants to get right into the nitty gritty of gardening without having to weed through information you don't need. I highly recommend this book for beginners and hesitant gardeners like me! Having had some success this Summer, I plan on planting more than just tomatoes next year!
I hate to diss any book, but here's the deal this one does not have one bit of useful information for anyone but the
most inexperienced person. As in NO garden experience at all.
The book is barely 40 pages long, and a lot of that is not really information.
What information there IS is so simplistic as to be useless, unless (as noted) you've lived your life entirely indoors and/or are a kid.
Example They have a list of 10 tools you need. One is a shovel. They tell you how it's best used...Another is a rake (ditto).
I got this based on a mention by a trusted newspaper columnist, so I'm doubly disappointed to find that it's completely useless.
was very well put together simple to understand and follow, the Mottshaw's made it easy to find and research different parts on there paperback, i fought it to be very enjoyable to read
This is an excellent primer to gardening for those starting out. It's easy to read with simple instructions, yet covers the basics that most non-gardeners do not know. I found it to be very helpful and am looking forward to planting my first 'crop' in the coming months -)
